I would like to congratulate the organizers for scheduling this conference at this time, when the government has initiated the process for wide ranging reforms to transform the oil and gas industry.
The Gas Africa Nigeria 2009 Conference focused on the gas industry in Africa at a time when African gas resources are increasingly at the centre of global attention. With the African gas producing nations working on balancing domestic and export targets, the conference provided a unique opportunity to hear and discuss various Government, IOC and Utility opinions and plans. It also provided a forum for discussions on African regional market and infrastructure development, particularly through the contributions of ECOWAS. Official presentations from Nigeria and Cameroun, amongst other African countries, gave a better picture of policy and infrastructure development in the very interesting Gulf of Guinea Region.
It was a pleasure for me to attend this edition of Gas Africa 2009 that was really very well organized.
